Upload iiRDS Archive

About This Task

Upload at least one Archive with the documentation files of your product. Then let the EnduraDocs Manager create your revision automatically based on your Archive's structure and metadata. The newly created revision will contain all s and metadata that is compatible with the EnduraDocs Manager.

Metadata Processing

When creating the revision based on an Archive, the EnduraDocs Manager handles existing metadata like this:
  • Documents with identifiers matching the iiRDS Standard use the predefined Document with the same machine-readable identifier.
  • Documents without machine-readable identifiers matching the iiRDS Standard are created as custom Documents.
  • Components and Subjects are created as custom elements.
All matching or created metadata choices are selected as available metadata choices for your revision, so you can use them later during editing.

Instructions

  1. Arrow pointing to the right. Click on the button under "Start with an iiRDS-Archive".
    Check mark. The revision creation opens on the upload tab.
  2. Arrow pointing to the right. Click on the upload field and select an Archive to upload from your computer.
    You must have at least one Archive to upload to be able to use this revision creation process. Otherwise, you must create your revision manually.
    The uploaded Archives appear in the Uploaded Files List below.
  3. Arrow pointing to the right Check if your list is complete.
    You remove erroneously uploaded files by selecting them and clicking "Remove", or upload additional files following the instructions of step 2.
  4. Click to continue the revision creation.
    The EnduraDocs Manager starts processing your Archive.
  5. Wait for the EnduraDocs Manager to complete creating your revision on the basis of the uploaded Archive(s).
    This can take a few minutes.
    You are forwarded to the Documents Management.
  6. Click "Close", then confirm.
    Your revision is now ready for further editing or finalizing.
